Krakow to Budapest

We left early from krakow, through thick fog, south through the mountains on our way to Budapest. It was evident that, despite the occasional towns with soviet style block apartments, the countryside was basic, poor and simple. There's only one two lane road, via Slovakia, to Hungary. Streets were void of people or commercial places.
It was a beautiful drive through the mountains, with a lunch stop at a "ski" resort ( barely a toboggan run!) and finally Budapest
The city is magnificent with gorgeous buildings, castles, squares and waterfront. Streets are full with tourists and students.
